Dabney Family Papers 1837-2002.

The bulk of this collection contains journals and family manuscripts pertaining to Charles W. Dabney, John Bass Dabney and William H. Dabney, all of whom were vice counsels or counsels for the United States Department of State in the nineteenth century. Included with this collection are articles and postcards detailing the battle between the Alabama and Kearsarge. These two ships were in East Atlantic Ocean, particularly near the Azores, during the consul tenure of Charles W. Dabney. The collection contains extensive secondary source research into the Dabney Family of Fayal, Azores.
